SoreTrace Privacy Policy

The short version

SoreTrace does not collect your data. There is no account, no sign-up, no server, and no analytics. Everything you log stays on your own device.

What SoreTrace stores

SoreTrace stores the following on your device only:

The muscle regions you log, the soreness level you choose (1 to 5), and the date and time of each log.
Whether you have seen the introduction screens.
Whether a SoreTrace Pro subscription is currently active on this device.
Any pending stretch reminder you have scheduled.

This information is written to your device's own local app storage (SharedPreferences on Android, the equivalent user defaults store on iOS). It is never transmitted anywhere. We cannot see it, and we have no server that could receive it.

What SoreTrace does not do

No account creation and no login.
No cloud sync and no backup to our servers, because there are no servers.
No analytics, telemetry, crash reporting, or usage tracking SDKs.
No advertising, and no advertising identifiers.
No location data, contacts, camera, microphone, photos, or health records.
No reading from Apple Health or Android Health Connect.
No selling or sharing of personal information, as those terms are defined under the California Consumer Privacy Act. There is nothing to sell.

Notifications

If you enable a stretch reminder, SoreTrace schedules a local notification on your device. The notification is created and delivered by your device itself. It does not travel through a push server, and it contains only the muscle region name and a short stretch suggestion. You can revoke notification permission at any time in your device settings.

Purchases

SoreTrace Pro is an auto-renewing subscription sold through the Apple App Store or Google Play. When you subscribe, the payment is handled entirely by Apple or Google. We never see your name, payment card, or billing address. The app receives only a confirmation from the store that a purchase for this device succeeded, and it records a single yes/no flag locally so that Pro features stay unlocked between launches.

Children

SoreTrace is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect anything from anyone, of any age. Because no data leaves the device, there is nothing for us to hold or delete on a child's behalf.

Your rights

Because SoreTrace holds no data about you, there is nothing for us to disclose, correct, export, or erase on request. You retain full control of your own records:

Delete a single log: swipe it away on the History screen.
Delete everything: uninstall SoreTrace. Removing the app removes its local storage, and your logs are gone permanently. They are not recoverable by us or by you, so export anything you want to keep beforehand.

If your device backs itself up (iCloud Backup or Android Backup), a copy of the app's local storage may be included in that backup. That backup belongs to you and is governed by Apple's or Google's privacy policy, not ours.

Changes to this policy

If SoreTrace ever begins collecting data, this policy will be updated before that version ships and the change will be described in the app's release notes. The "Last updated" date above always reflects the current version.
